Nether Johnstone House is a large and comfortable resource with en suite accommodation for up to seven young people with complex needs and traumatic life stories. The house is a comfortable, well furnished building in a secluded road on the outskirts of Johnstone. It has a large private garden, allowing outdoor activities in a safe environment. Our location provides privacy and at the same time access to an extensive range of community resources and is also convenient to road, rail and air connections.
In 2014 we have reviewed and enhanced our practice base, to ensure that we deliver the best outcomes for young people we look after.
Getting it Right for Every Child provides the vision and framework for our care planning, delivery and evaluation of our services. We ensure that a partnership approach to caring for young people underlies all of our practice.
All staff are trained in the overall GIRFEC approach as well as the use of tools such as the Well Being wheel and the My World Triangle in the planning process. Our in house care plans are based around the SHANARRI indicators, which we use to measure achievement and to inform further planning.
